Oliver Needham

Hello, I'm Oliver Needham

I create digital content for events, live streams, churches and radio.

Currently at Storm Events, I work with them producing virtual & hybrid events.

You'll find me presenting The Today Show on Peterborough City Radio every week, playing music of the moment.

I am part of Life Church Peterborough, where I also volunteer for their Tech Team.

Events

At Westminster Chapel, I designed and operated the lighting for their annual Christmas Carol services. This included uplighters around the historic auditorium and moving heads for additional atmosphere.

When leading the volunteer Tech Team at Westminster Chapel, I also operated sound and visual elements across Sunday services and mid-week events.

I was a founder of KingsStock Music Festival, where I was an on-stage compare alongside producing visuals for the screens and programming lighting for the main stage.

For Tearfund, I assisted with organsing their annual Ambassadors' Dinner. I liased with venues and catering providers, organised printed invites and menus for the guests and managed the guestlist with senior management.

Currently I work at Storm Events, assisting them to produce virtual & hybrid events. This includes online meetings and webinars with platforms like Zoom, and attending in-person events to operate audio and visuals.

Radio

I present The Today Show on Peterborough Community Radio, weekly on Mondays from 7-9pm.

The format reflects the day's news, weather and events with carefully curated music and links.

My passion for radio started at community radio station Tulip Radio in Spalding, and since then I have supported the Student Radio Association by being a judge for their awards and worked on several event radio stations for Poacher International Scout & Guide Jamboree and the ONE Event gathering in Lincolnshire.

I am proud to continue to support community radio in the UK by being part of the organising team for the annual Community Radio Awards.

Visuals

I've produced visuals for events in various forms for over a decade; from promotional videos for music festivals to on-stage motion graphics for Christmas Carol church services.

For the Community Radio Awards, I have created, produced and ran their 2018, 2019 & 2021 ceremony graphics and animations, alongside accompanying audio cues.

For six years, I led the Westminster Chapel Tech Team, working with great volunteers who support the church's Sunday services and other events.

My focus was mostly on the visuals used throughout services, including the introduction of motion backgrounds and using a new font during sung worship.

Alongside producing visual content, I have experience vision mixing live streams using Newtek's TriCaster hardware and vMix software. These have incorporated technologies like NDI and Dante.

Live streams have included Sunday services at Westminster Chapel, the annual Community Radio Awards and Peterborough City Praise at Peterborough Cathedral.

PR & Media Relations

Whilst working with Tearfund, I was in the Media team, who are responsible for the press coverage and public reputation for the charity.

As PR & Press Officer, my role was to gain coverage of our work with a fantastic team of ambassadors.

Tearfund is supported by a community of fundraisers who go to extraordinary lengths to raise funds. I had the privilage of organising local and national coverage of their efforts

During my time at Tearfund, I wrote press releases promoting fundraising initiatives and products such as The Justice Conference UK and Declaration national prayer week.
